The Shetland Community Facilities Network provides an opportunity for voluntary groups and organisations who manage a community facility to network, learn, collaborate and share information to improve the management of their facilities for the community.

Supported by Voluntary Action Shetland, the members of the Network are able to:

  • Discuss issues of concern
  • Share information and good practice
  • Identify needs and learn from each other
  • Consult, and appoint representatives to relevant local bodies (e.g. Licencing board)

VAS signposts members to local and national resources, and supports members to lobby, both locally and nationally, on issues affecting the sector. They also coordinate presentations from external organisations on matters of concern identified by the members, ranging from insurance, risk assessments, community resilience to funding.
