MV Awards Event August 2010

Voluntary Action Shetland held their tenth MV Award event at the Shetland Museum and Archives on 30th August 2010.  Over thirty young people were eligible to receive their awards on the night, of whom 17 were able to attend in person to receive their awards from Tavish Scott, MSP, the evening's speaker.

Receiving their 200 hour Awards for Excellence were: Lauran Kerr, Rebekah Mann and Leona Mullay (all from Girl Guiding Shetland) Sharmila Reed (British Red Cross) and Rachael Southern (Delting Dolphins).  Also achieving 200 hours were Felix Gifford (Delting Dolphins) Amy Harper (Shetland Amateur Swimming Club), Eilidh Malcolmson (Sandwick Youth Club, AHS peer support) and Aidan Nicol (Madrin Media, Shetland Youth Clubs).

100 hour awards went to: Jack Henderson (British Red Cross, RSPB); and Shane Johnson (Bridges, SIC Garages).

50 hour awards: Donna Brown (Shetland Islands Citizens Advice Bureau); Karen Bannister (Shetland Amateur Athletics Club, Scalloway Junior High Netball); Chapman Cheng (British Red Cross, RSPB); David Eva (Shetland Arts, Shetland Befriending Scheme); Victoria Laurenson (Shetland Arts Development Agency); Kirsten Napier (1st Sandwick Guides); Rachel Nicolson (Sandwick Youth Club); Megan Jane Smith (Sandwick Junior Youth Club); Megan Katriona Smith (Shetland Amateur Athletics Club); and Chloe Warner (Bridges, SIC Drama, Hame Fae Hame Nursery).
