Voluntary Action Shetland

A wide range of training and learning opportunities for voluntary and community groups and volunteers.

SIC - Schools

Train Shetland

Train Shetland was formed in July 2002 to streamline the services offered to the public. It has two main areas in which it operates: Vocational Training in the form of Skillseekers and Modern Apprenticeships and Short Courses.

Shetland Library - Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is part of the Shetland Library service, providing access to the People's Network.  This is a national initiative, bringing computer access to everyone via a network of public libraries.

Skills Development Scotland

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is the national skills body supporting the people and businesses of Scotland. SDS were formed in 2008 as a non-departmental public body, bringing together careers, skills, training and funding services.

NAFC Marine Centre

The NAFC Marine Centre carries out a wide range of activities related to the fisheries and maritime industries, including training and education, research and development, environmental and quality monitoring, and advice and management. NAFC is an academic partner in the UHI Millennium Institute.

Shetland College

Provides full-time and part-time courses in a wide range of subjects relevant to the needs of Shetland.

Lifeskills Shetland

Lifeskills is committed to providing a process of continuous training of the highest standard. It is our firm belief that quality training leads to motivated staff, satisfied customers and a profitable business.

The Hunter and Morrison Trust

The Hunter and Morrison Trust exists to promote the development of the fisheries industry in Shetland for the benefit of the Shetland community.  The Trust co-ordinates the investment and appropriate distribution  of funds to individuals looking to pursue a career in the seafood industries, those already employed keen to develop their skills, and local businesses seeking to improve their prospects.

Shetland University of the 3rd Age

Shetland U3A is a branch of the international organisation "University of the Third Age" and is affiliated to the Scottish U3A.
