Under 18's versus Spurs - Thursday 26th April
Those who turned up to watch Whitedale's return to junior football were treated to a very exciting match when they took on spurs at strom park.
Whitedale's Paul molloy was the first to come close with a clear header on goal but Kyle Duncan dealt with it comfortably. Spurs were having the bulk of the possesion but were finding the Whitedale defence well organised and not easy to break down. Craig Fraser pulled off a couple of fine saves when they did get through. Whitedale were relying on a quick break and on one attack Paul Molloy spun around and sent an unstopable shot in off the crossbar, leaving the score 1-0 at half time.
The seccond half barely started when the same player rattled the upright with the keeper well beaten. Spurs pressed forward looking for the equaliser and were rewarded when Shane Jamieson struck a lovely twenty five yard free-kick into the top corner. This gave Spurs a big lift and they threw everything at the home side looking for the winner but some great defending by Whitedale, none more so then Richard Sinclair who showed great composure and awareness.
In the dying second's Whitedale's Calum Leask picked up the ball wide on the left and cut inside beating all players that came at him before sending his winner beyond the keeper.
A match played in good spirit was well refereed by Andy Angus.
UNDER 16 3 THISTLE 0 - Tuesday 22/05/07
Despite difficult conditions both teams played some good football, with Whitedale taking their chances, and Thistle having no luck in front of goal. Whitedale's Calum Leask got his head on the end of a superb cross from John-Robert Manson to make it one-nill, and soon after Manson scored with a nicely placed left foot shot. Thistle were creating chances at the other end and were denied when Michael Leask raced through only to see Craig Fraser pull off a great save at the edge of the box. The seccond half was a very even affair with an Alan Johnston free kick finding the net for the country side making the final score 3-0. Thistle's Maurice Williamson and Scott Evans played well for their side, and a good team performance from Whitedale with Jack Johnson outstanding
Whitedale U18 3 V Ness U18 2 Boddam 24/05/06
On one of the few fine nights that has been lately, Whitedale under 18s travelled to Boddam to take on the Ness side. Last minute call offs meant a chance for boys to claim a place in the starting eleven instead of watching from the side lines. Ness kicked of down the slope hoping to carry on their run of two wins against Whitedale sides recently, 3-1 at 18s and 3-2 at 16s being the previous results. Two rash challenges from Stuart "Donaldo" saw ref Robbie Goudie flash the yellow card bringing to an end the "we've never had a player booked ever" statement! With about twenty minutes gone Ramsay Hogg battled his way through the Ness defence and struck a nice finish for the first goal of the game. Whitedale bombarded their opponents with attack after attack, but a combination of pour finishing and good saves from Liam Smith in goals denied them. Then from absolutely nowhere a clearance from a Ness player was not claimed by any Whitedale defender and allowed Alwyn Flaws to run through and slide the ball past the advancing keeper Craig Fraser. This was a desperate blow to the boys after controlling the play, but they regained the lead just before half time when Steven Sandison sent over a vicious cross which the keeper miss-judged and the ball ended up in the net . Half-time 2-1 Laurence Abernethy, who had a good first half, was having trouble with an injured thigh was replaced on the wing by Calum Leask. Jack Johnson, Paul Molloy and Lewis King had complete control of the midfield whilst Alan Johnston and Stuart Donald were tidying things up well at the back. Full-backs Richard Sinclair and Steven Sandison were also having good games, both having tricky wingers to look after. Whitedale knew they needed another goal to kill the game off and threw everything at Ness. Molloy came close with a shot, Leask missed when it looked easier to score and Joe Morrison saw his header come back of the post. Finally after a sustained attack the ball broke to the edge of the Ness box and was met by Jack Johnson with a well placed strike low to the keepers left. With a couple of minutes remaining a clearance from the Whitedale defence struck Donald on the chest and rebounded into the net. This made for a tense few minutes for Whitedale but they held out and earned themselves a well deserved win. An excellent team display with the midfield three making the difference.

Spurs 1 - 3 Whitedale under 16 31/05/07
A young Spurs side battled well and played some good football, but Whitedale were too strong for them and eventually ran out winners, the scorers being Jordan Morrison with a header and Matthew Williamson scoring twice.
Whitedale 5 - 2 Delting under 18 31/05/07
Both teams started well, Delting playing some good possesion football making the Whitedale defence work hard for the first ten minutes. A long free kick from Alan Johnson floated over the top of the Delt's defence and Paul Malloy was quickest off the mark and finished well. Delting pressed for the equaliser, none moreso than Connal Richardson, whose excellent overlapping and crossing was the main threat for Whitedale. However Whitedale's Scott Jeromson scored two goals, the first beating the fullback and lobbing the keeper and the second being a well placed header. Half time was 3 - 0. Delting tried hard to get an early goal to get back into the game, but Whitedale was not making it easy for them. Ramsay Hogg sealed the game for Whitedale using his strength to create two openings which he put away. Credit to Delting, they gave Whitedale a scare in the last ten minutes, scoring two goals. Stewart Lavender outpaced the defence and sliding the ball low past the keeper, and a rasping free kick from Mark Smith from the edge of the box. A good all round team performance from Whitedale, in particular Scott Jeromson on his debut for the 18's.
