The Award is a simple, user-friendly quality standard designed to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at working with volunteers; it also provides quality assurance to potential funders.

Community Mediation Volunteer Friendly Award December 2015

On Tuesday the 7th December 2015 Voluntary Action Shetland were delighted to present Community Mediation Shetland (CMT) with their Second Volunteer Friendly Award for excellence in volunteer management in Shetland. Pictured above are Neil Pearson (VAS), Judith Leask (CMT), Alexis Robertson (CMT), Alyson Halcrow (CMT) and Kathleen Williamson (VAS).

The Volunteer Friendly Award is a simple, user-friendly quality standard designed to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at working with volunteers. Once achieved, voluntary groups may use the award to support them with funding grants and volunteer recruitment. The Award is based on Investing in Volunteers and has been developed by Volunteer Centre Dundee and is administered locally by Voluntary Action Shetland.

A number of organisations throughout Shetland have now signed up to work towards achieving their own volunteer friendly awards. If your organisation supports volunteers and you are interested in learning more about Volunteer friendly and how to sign up, please contact:
