Health means different things to different people. Some folk see health as being without illnesses; others thinks of it as being physically fit or having a healthy diet or feeling happy, or being able to work, or having a long life.
Whatever health and wellbeing means to you, there are things that you can do to improve your own health. Health Yourself to Health is a collaboration between NHS Shetland and Shetland Library that aims to make information on health and wellbeing more accessible to folk in Shetland.
As well as the main library in Lerwick, there are mobile libraries, community libraries and school libraries, serving all of Shetland. You can also look at the library website from home, and request books online.

This is not meant to be a substitute for healthcare services or professional medical advice, but is there to support individuals and groups in taking charge of their own health.
Health Improvement also provides a range of leaflets, posters and resources for health professionals and other services users.
