MV Thora
The passage which leads to the toilets and passenger lounge can be accessed from the car deck at either end. At one end there are two steps of 200mm and 400mm whilst at the other end there are two steps of 300mm each. The toilet has a 495mm wide door with a 50mm threshold leading to a smallish cubicle. Tactile signs are fitted to toilet doors. The staircase leading down to the passenger lounge has 12 steps and a square section handrail. The steps have metal nosings which offer some contrast. There are small thresholds in various places within passageways which although very shallow are unmarked and form trip hazards.

MV Snolda (Relief Ferry)
There is a 250mm high step onto a platform outside the entrance to the passenger area and a 340mm threshold under the door itself. Within the passenger area is a toilet with a 560mm wide door and a 140mm threshold. The door from the passage into the passenger lounge has a clear width of 520mm and a threshold of 80mm. The emergency exit from the passenger lounge has a 480mm threshold. Comfortable seating is provided.

West Burrafirth Terminal (Mainland)
There is no segregation of vehicles and pedestrians on the shore ramp. The waiting room and bus stop is situated 91 meters from the ferry ramp and is accessed via a small 30mm step. Inside is bench seats without arm rests. A level path leads around the back of the building to an accessible toilet. There are also separate male and female toilets with large cubicles suitable for ambulant disabled. The accessible toilet has a small 15mm threshold. A coin operated hot shower is situated inside the accessible toilet but the controls are 2000mm above floor height and there is a 120mm step into the shower tray. There is also a public telephone kiosk outside the building. Grab rails are fitted to all entrances which have steps. .
Papa Stour Terminal
There is no segregation of vehicles and pedestrians on the shore ramp. The waiting room is situated at the top of a steep 128 metre road leading up from the ferry terminal. Although tarred, the road is covered in loose gravel. The waiting room and toilet is accessed via a gate and wooden walkway. The waiting room door has a 160mm step whilst the door leading to the male, female and accessible toilet has a 45mm threshold. Grab rails are fitted to all entrances which have steps. Outside the waiting room is a picnic table and a gate and stile which gives access to the fields along the coast for walkers.
