Claire's story

I started to get involved with the Children's Rights Service when I was 15.  Two years on I have benefitted greatly from the service.  For example I am quite shy but the CRO spoke up me in meetings, panels, court etc.   The CRO also helped me clear my head, helped me to understand and put my points across in important meetings.  They also let me know if professionals or anyone was not respecting my rights as a young person.  CROs are not judgemental.

Now I look back I can see that the CRO helped boost my confidence, got me involved with projects that were beneficial and supported me through rough times.  I would recommend that every vulnerable person should have the choice of being allocated with a Children's Rights Officer to represent or support them.
