Activities


Volunteers and the young person/young adult they are matched with can do loads of activities around Shetland, experiencing something new, going somewhere they have never been or learning something new. neon horse

The types of activities that you can take part in are

  • Sports activities like badminton, squash, tennis, table tennis, swimming, the gym, health suite, golf and football
  • Arts and Crafts i.e attending workshops, visiting galleries
  • Visiting places of interest around Shetland including visiting museums and heritage centres, beachcombing and going to archeological sites
  • Going for coffee or lunch and having a chat
  • Going to the pictures to see films
  • Walking the dogs

The list is endless.

The scheme also offers regular group sessions for volunteers and young people/ young adults to meet and experience an activity together.  The type of activities undertaken have been:

  • Canoeing and Abseiling
  • Trampolining
  • Musical Drumming Workshops
  • Swan Boat Trips
  • Climbing Wall Taster Sessions
  • Archery Taster Sessions
  • Belly Dancing
  • Cookery Taster Sessions
