Singing Kettle Concert

Disability Shetland would like to invite you to a private concert with the Singing Kettle on Thursday 29th April at 11am in the Sound Hall, Lerwick.  The concert will last approximately 30 minutes and there will be time to meet "The Kettles" and take photos at the end.

Disability Shetland Secures one year funding for pilot project

Disability Shetland has just secured £3,620.00 from Comic Relief via The Scottish Community Foundation to support the running costs of new projects that will be based in Unst and Lerwick.  The projects will give clients in Unst the opportunity to try bowling and new age kurling and will give clients in Lerwick the opportunity to try bowling in Clickimin Leisure Centre’s main bowls hall.

 Sarah Johnston, Recreation Club Co-ordinator of Disability Shetland said, “We are delighted to have received this very generous financial award to support the pilot projects.  It allows our clients to try new activities in the two locations and if the projects are successful they will be incorporated into our main programme.”

Traditional Shetland Dance Night

Disability Shetland will be hosting its annual Traditional Shetland Dance Night on the 17th April 2010 at Gulberwick Public Hall.  Tickets will be available from Clives Record Shop, High Level Music, Market House Reception and Support Training from 5th March 2010.  We are all looking forward to another really enjoyable night of music and dancing to the Cullivoe Dance Band.

Blue Badge Scheme

SHA - Buffet Supper Dance

It has been decided to hold a buffet supper dance for all members of the Shetland Halls Association.

Its to be held on Saturday 10th April 2010 at 7.30pm at the Aith Hall, Music by Cullivoe Dance Band.

It shall cost £15 per ticket.
