Disability Shetland held their annual carpet bowls competition on Monday the 11th June 2009 at Clickimin Centre in Lerwick. The event was well attended with over 27 participants.

Per Breivik was crowned the 2009 champion and Anne Robertson; Lerwick Womens 2009 Bowls Champion presented him with the Sportswise Shield and trophy. Jack Harcus secured 2nd place and was presented with a trophy. There was a tie between Shona Mair and Gina Leslie for 3rd and 4th positions and after a tense game Shona Mair secured 3rd and Gina Leslie 4th.

The Sports Club will start up again on the 12th October 2009.
