Disability Shetland's range of support services to clients

Helping Hands Information Pack:- Disability Shetland can provide families, carers and organisations with this pack free of charge.  It includes a whole host of useful information such as vision services, speech and language therapists, social work information and child development initiative.  This pack is currently being updated.

Landeez Wheelchairs:-  We have 3 all-terrain wheelchairs that can be used to enable wheelchair users to access beaches and other areas off the mainroad.  These are lent to clients free of charge and are particularly suitable for children.  They can also be borrowed by community organisations based in Shetland

Travel Bag:- This is a "Mayday" Wheelchair Travel Bag.  It can help to protect your wheelchair on aircraft, cars and boats.  There is no need to fold down the back of your wheelchair and it keeps everything together.  It costs £105 to buy new but can be hired from Disability Shetland for £5.00.

Wheelchair Lending Service:- We have 3 light-weight wheelchairs, 1 standard wheelchair and a large wheelchair.  These wheelchairs can be lent to anyone who needs this type of assistance, whether resident in Shetland or not.
